Miriam RyanOn Thursday 27th April, the Food Industry Training Unit in partnership with Taste 4 Success Skillnet, hosted Dr Mirian Ryan who presented a webinar entitled, "Irish Dairy Nutrition - An Evolving Industry", as part of our Dairy Masterclass Webinar Sessions.

Dairy is Ireland’s largest native industry, our international calling card. Specialised nutrition is an increasingly valuable component of this industry - yet is this widely known or understood? This webinar explored where we are currently leveraging our historic dairy base to add further value, and where we sit globally in the area. It also reviewed challenges faced by the industry and questioned how the sector can overcome these successfully through growth opportunities and innovation. 

Speaker: Dr Miriam Ryan is head of specialised nutrition and food policy at Dairy Industry Ireland. As a board director and committee member of Specialised Nutrition Europe, the International Special Dietary Foods Industries association (ISDI), European Dairy Association and other fora nationally, she is a leading voice for Irish dairy processors. A registered nutritionist, Miriam has previously held roles across research, management, academia and clinical trials in Ireland and France over the last 20 years.
