Public Talk: Music Generation - transforming lives through access to performance music education

26 Feb 2020

Quercus Creative & Performing Arts Lecture takes place on Wednesday 4th March, 2020 with Rosaleen Molloy, National Director of Music Generation. Rosaleen will be talking about transforming lives through access to performance music education.

The Quercus Talented Students’ Programme is aimed at supporting and promoting excellence in academia, sport, creative and performing arts, active citizenship and innovation/entrepreneurship for both prospective undergraduate/level 8 students and students already registered in UCC.

Each year the Quercus Lescture Series invites external guest speakers and leaders in their fields to deliver a public lecture in Cork.

Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme that transforms the lives of children and young people through access to high quality performance music education in their locality.

Music Generation Cork City (MGCC) works in partnership with community based musicians and music organisations to bring music education into the lives of children and young people across Cork City. Using the Community Education process, programmes are being made available in the places where children live, play, and go to school, bringing opportunities for music-making into the heart of Cork’s communities. Music Generation Cork City programmes include rock and pop, brass and wind, rap, vocal and music technologies.
