UCC School of Law Ranked Among the Top 100 Law Schools in the World, Climbing to 75th in the World and First in Ireland
The School has climbed 25 places in the elite QS global subject rankings to 75th in the world and to 1st in Ireland, reinforcing its place as a world-leading institution for legal education
UCC School of Law has been ranked among the world’s best Law Schools in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject (2022).
The QS subject rankings identify the world’s leading schools in particular fields, taking into account academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. The strength of UCC School of Law across these fields has propelled it 75th in the world in the Top 100 for 2022, a rise of 25 places from last year and at the same time has risen from 3rd to 1st in Ireland from when the last QS Subject Rankings were released.

To rise 25 places globally and from 3rd to 1st in Ireland is a huge achievement and reflects not only the tremendous talent in the School, but also the outstanding reputation that the School, its research and its legal education enjoys amongst academics and employers worldwide. The result is a tribute to both my colleagues and our students, and our much-improved ranking internationally and nationally will significantly benefit the School. About QS Subject Rankings
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is an independent comparative analysis on the performance of 15,200 individual university programs, taken by students at 1,543 universities in 88 locations across the world, across 51 academic disciplines.
Each of the subject rankings is compiled using four sources. The first two of these are QS’s global surveys of academics and employers, which are used to assess institutions’ international reputation in each subject. The second two indicators assess research impact, based on research citations per paper and h-index in the relevant subject.
