James is an anthropologist with a research focus on social effects of technology, particularly information and communications technology across cultural lines. James has overseen and managed projects with companies such as RPS Ireland (on settlement impacts & socio-cultural integration).  James was the General Editor of the Irish Journal of Anthropology from 2014 to 2019.
