Dr Maria Kirrane facilitates Cork Chamber Biodiversity and Infrastructure Panel Discussion

Dr Maria Kirrane facilitated the Cork Chambers in-person Sustainable Cork Programme panel discussion, held on 24 September. This coincided with SDG week 18 September - 8 October 2024 and was held at the recently opened Education, Conservation and Research Centre at Fota Wildlife Park.
The Sustainable Cork Programme (SCP) is designed to set a vision for a more sustainable and resilient Cork, empowered by a thriving business community. Part of this vision is a world where economic development and the natural environment can exist in equilibrium.
Panellists, Claire Quane, Head of Renewable Operations in ESB Generation and Trading, Michael Goan, Urban Design and Sustainability Manager, Land Development Agency and Colette Shirley, Director of Sustainability, Bank of Ireland explored how business can drive growth and innovation, while actively contributing to the SDGs and safeguarding Cork’s natural capital.
