Engagement and Empowerment in UCC
UCC recognises the importance of educating and empowering our students beyond their academic endeavours. UCC offers counselling and development services, disability support, careers advice and medical and sexual health services to all students during their time in University.
In an effort to continue the University's active engagement with students and to foster personal assertiveness and social responsibility amongst the student body, UCC has launched the Bystander Intervention Programme. This programme aims to continue developing a culture of mutual respect and the prevention of social normalisation of abusive behaviour by educating students on the University's Zero Tolerance approach to all forms of unwanted behaviour. The programme will assist the student body to evaluate unacceptable behaviour and cultivate the values of positivity and support.
