The UCC-Cork Singida Partnership: Making a difference together

The Cork-Singida Partnership is a registered charity set up over 30 years ago by UCC staff. Since then, the Partnership has contributed more than €750,000 to Makiungu Hospital in Singida, Tanzania, to help provide healthcare to the people of the region.
More than 100 UCC staff and retirees contribute monthly through payroll deductions, funding essential projects at the hospital and its outreach clinics. These include the funding of physio facilities, diagnostic equipment, infection control infrastructure, and a hostel for hospital staff. The Partnership also supports staff training, renovations in rural dispensaries, hospice home care, and community awareness on human trafficking via the Faraja Centre.
Over the past year, the focus of support has shifted to remote rural health centres and the Faraja Centre, which provides both palliative care and training to prevent human trafficking—a growing issue in the Singida region.
As a registered charity, the Partnership can reclaim tax on donations of more than €21/month, allowing contributions to go even further. Every euro counts, and your support can make a real difference in one of the poorest regions of the world.
