IUA Future of Ireland Webinar: Future Skills Needs for the Health Sector

On 15^th of June 2023, Professor Stephen Byrne, Deputy President and Registrar participated as a panellist on an IUA Future of Ireland Webinar focusing on Future Skills Needs for the Health Sector.  At the Webinar Minister Stephen Donnelly gave his perspective on workforce planning for the health sector.  The key role of Universities in producing the talent and skills pool for the health sector, was recognised with thousands of medical, nursing and other health and social care professionals graduating each year. The panel discussion also included Professor Orla Shiels, Vice-Provost/Chief Academic Officer, Trinity College Dublin and Sheila McClelland CEO, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
