High School Counsellors
Professor Stephen Byrne, Deputy President and Registrar and Kathryn Neville, Interim Director of Recruitment and Admissions were delighted to welcome high school counsellors from the United States of America to campus on the 27th of February and the 2nd of March. Schools from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Washington DC were represented in the two groups of counsellors.
During the visit, which was organised by Education in Ireland in collaboration with the International Office, the counsellors had the opportunity to learn about UCC’s admissions process, student support services, teaching and learning, academic programmes and the student experience. They also had time to enjoy our beautiful campus through tours organised by Visitors Services as well as the opportunity to explore Cork city. Several students from the US, who are currently pursuing their undergraduate degrees at UCC, shared their experiences with the counsellors, who were very impressed with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the students in relation to their studies at the university.
