Two Quercus Active Citizenship Scholars, Sumaya Mohammed and Cian Walsh, were among UCC's delegation to COP 29 in Baku.

Both Cian and Sumaya are climate activists. Cian is in second year Government & Political Sciences and Sumaya is in first year Law. Cian is also the Students' Union Environmental and Sustainability Representative.

Cian, in an interview with George Lee of RTE News said, 'My hope is that we leave this COP with concrete commitments that will drive real, positive change for both people and the planet, in particular, I hope that we leave this COP with an ambitous climate finance goal.'

Well done to Cian, Sumaya and all the other UCC representatives. At this critical juncture, the planet needs committed and determined climate activists like you.
