Biography.

Aimée is a Health Economist engaging in Health Services Research on the HRB Interdisciplinary Capacity Enhancement Post-Doctoral Award. She is conducting research which examines the predictors of health service utilisation during pregnancy.

Aimée submitted her PhD in February 2016 in the Department of Economics in University College Cork. Her thesis was entitled “The Impact of User Charges on Patient Choice of Healthcare Services in Ireland”. This research assessed patients’ response to user charges for healthcare services to ascertain whether user charges are a viable source for part-funding healthcare in Ireland. In December 2011, Aimée completed an MSc in Health Economics also at University College Cork. Her thesis assessed the factors which influence demand for emergency contraception use amongst female universtiy students.

Aimée’s research interests include health economics, health service utilization, health care financing methods and quantitative research methods.
