19 Jun 2024
SAMAGH Training in the UCC ASSERT Centre

"The Self-harm Assessment and Management Programme for General Hospitals in Ireland (SAMAGH)," a two-day training event took place on June 13-14 at the UCC ASSERT Centre.

This intensive training program coincided with the Learning and Teaching Conference focusing on simulation-led training methodologies where we got the opportunity for poster presentation of the same project.

SAMAGH saw active participation from candidates, all with a background in psychiatry, enhancing their skills and knowledge in managing self-harm in Emergency Departments.

The training was expertly facilitated by Prof. Ella Arensman, Dr. Eric Kelleher, Dr. James O'Mahony, Prof. Eugene Cassidy, Dr Anvar Sadath and Almas Khan. Their combined expertise provided invaluable insights and practical skills to our participants, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience".
