“Leveraging Transdisciplinary Strengths in a Research Partnership
with the Travelling Community.”

Academics in the College of Medicine and Health UCC have developed a research partnership over the past seven years with the Traveller Visibility Group (TVG), which represents the indigenous ethnic minority Traveller community in Cork.

This seminar charts the evolution of working relationships, trust, power and resource sharing, and the ethics of participation and representation across three phases of Community Engaged Research on, first, a clinical study of the gut microbiome of the Traveller community and second, a social determinants of health and epidemiology study in Cork city and county.

Please join us from 13:00 to 14:00 on Thursday 15th January 2026
in person in Rm 4.05 in UCC’s Western Gateway Building, or Online via MS Teams HERE.
