Biography
Principal investigator of the IPeAAT project, and lecturer in environmental archaeology at University College Cork. Ben’s research interests span palaeoecology, wetland archaeology, and alluvial geoarchaeology. He was previously co-PI of the JPICH/Horizon 2020 funded ‘WetFutures’ Project and is co-author of the recently published ‘An Introduction to Peatland Archaeology and Palaeoenvironments’

Biography
Postdoctoral researcher for the IPeAAT project, based at University College Cork. Claire's research explores the social and eco-literal value of the historic environment, focusing in particular on the relationship between cultural heritage and wellbeing. She has written and spoken widely on heritage-related wellbeing, and the power of cultural heritage to ground and create meaning for individuals and communities. Her current work seeks to gain a greater understanding of how reflective engagement with heritage assets can not only promote wellbeing, but also a greater sense of ecocultural identity and environmental awareness.

Postdoctoral Researcher
Biography
Ellen is a Postdoctoral Researcher for the IPeAAT Project, based at University College Cork. She is an environmental specialist and a licensed archaeology director who has worked and published extensively on archaeological excavations across Ireland for over 20 years. Ellen co-authored the Palaeo-environmental Sampling Guidelines for Transport Infrastructural Ireland, and has collaborated on a number of projects, most recently the ERC funded FoodCult Project. Her main research interests are long-term vegetation dynamics and landscape change, management and use of forest systems, and impacts of climatic change.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant
Biography
IPeAAT project postdoctoral research assistant based at University College Cork. Lauren’s research interests lie in palaeoenvironmental studies, tephrochronology, and the impacts of humans, climate, fire, and volcanic eruptions on the environment. She is keen to promote policy-research links having previously undertaken a fellowship at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology in wildfires and climate change.
