UCC performs strongly in Knowledge Transfer Ireland’s 2025 survey
University College Cork (UCC) has retained its position as Ireland’s leading university for research income derived from industry and the number of Licences, Options and Assignments (LOAs) executed, according to Knowledge Transfer Ireland’s (KTI) 2025 Annual Knowledge Transfer Survey.
UCC recorded €11.5 million in research expenditure derived from industry in 2025, the highest of any Irish university and an increase from €8.9 million in 2024. UCC also executed 48 Licences, Options and Assignments (LOAs) during the year, up from 33 in 2024 and the highest number recorded by an Irish university.
