Screening of “The Last Austrians” with director Lukas Pitscheider on 29th March 2023 in Kane B.10B, UCC
We cordially invite you to the Ireland premiere of the documentary film "The Last Austrians". The director Lukas Pitscheider will also be present and available for a Q & A with the audience.
"The Last Austrians" depicts the lives and struggles of people in a small western Ukrainian village called "Königsfeld" (Усть-Чорна). Of the Austrian descendants who emigrated to the village in the 18th century, only a few dozen still live there. The question of survival is omnipresent, and while some villagers decide to emigrate, others try to breathe new life into their village.
Following the screening, we invite you to a wine reception to celebrate the premiere. The screening will take place at the Film and Screen Media Centre in Kane B.10B, UCC Campus on 29 March at 5pm. The film will be in Ukrainian, Austrian German dialect and with English subtitles. Everyone is welcome and admission is free!
