Jan Brandenburg, final year student in the Department of German, wins this year's writeAUT literature competition
We are delighted to share the joyous news that Jan Brandenburg, final year student in the Department of German, has emerged as the winner of this year's writeAUT literature competition with his exceptional piece titled "Moral”: A text about Hans Asperger who finds himself in a world ruled by Artificial Intelligence.
The writeAUT competition, now in its sixth edition, spans across Ireland and the UK, and is organised by the OeAD (Austrian Exchange Service) lecturers at 11 universities. This year, the competition revolved around the theme “Geschichte mal anders, rewriting historical figures in different time periods” - inviting participants to reimagine historical figures in alternative time periods.
The award ceremony took place on May 30th at the Austrian Cultural Forum London, where a gathering of students, OeAD lecturers, and the jury came together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the participants. We offer our sincere congratulations to Jan for his well-deserved accomplishment! It is a testament to his talent and hard work, and we wish him continued success in his future literary endeavors.
