Professor Chris Lynch was awarded a Senior Doctorate at Cardiff University.

The Title of Professor Lynch's thesis was: 'Evolving milieu and challenges in contemporary clinical dental education'

 

The award was based on assessment of a submission of a portfolio of published works along with a thesis. 

Professor Alastair Sloan, Dean of Cardiff Dental School said: "I would like to congratulate Chris on his outstanding achievement.  A Senior Doctorate is the highest achievable academic qualification.  Chris is the third-ever recepient of a Senior Doctorate in Dentistry at Cardiff University.  Chris' submission was assessed by a panel of international experts who felt he demonstrated a sustained and significant contribution of international significance to his field.  Chris wasa senior member of the Faculty at the School of Dentistry at Cardiff until his return to Ireland in 2017"

Professor Chris Lynch is a Professor & Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Univeristy Dental School & Hospital, Cork and is visiting Professor at Cardiff University.  In addition, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Dentistry.  Professor Chris Lynch is also Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
