Interested in a Career in Dentistry? Open Day 31 May 2022
Are you interested in finding out more about a career as a Dentist, Dental Hygienst or Dental Nurse? Then join us for our open day on 31 May 2022.
This will be an exciting and interactive day spent at the Dental School and Hospital learning about careers in Dentistry. This open day is suitable for students currently in secondary education.

10.30 am—10.45 am
Opening Presentation and Virtual Tour of the School and Hospital
10.45 am—11.15 am
Presentations from Staff in Dental Nursing, Dentistry and Dental Hygiene
11.15am - 11.30am
Presentation from Chair of EDI (Equality Diversity and Inclusion) CUDSH
Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be served during the above sessions. Students/Recent Graduates from each programme (Dentistry, Dental Nursing and Dental Hygiene) will attend the session to answer any questions and give attendees the benefit of their experience as students
11.30am - 1.30pm
Attendees will spend some time in the Orthodontic Laboratory learning how to make a dental appliance and also in the Oral Surgery Department getting some hands-on experience with our tooth extraction and suturing simulators.
Lunch will be provided by Cork University Dental School and Hospital. Staff and students will also attend this session
2 pm—3 pm
Attendees will get time in our Simulation Teaching Laboratory. This is the setting where students first get to practice their clinical skills.
3 pm—3.15 pm
