Conference: Two Tier Criminal Law System: Common Law and Regulatory Enforcement: is the traditional role of the DPP Diminishing?
This conference, organised by FirstLaw in conjunction with the Centre for Criminal Justice and Human Rights, will explore the rise in regulatory bodies with enforcement powers and the impact of this change for the role of the DPP. Keynote speakers at this topical conference include the DPP James Hamilton, Michael McDowell, SC and Paul Appleby, Director of Corporate Enforcement. Speakers include Gerard O'Leary, Environmental Protection Agency; Prof Irene Lynch Fannon, Faculty of Law, UCC; David McFadden, Competition Authority; Declan Walsh, Faculty of Law, UCC, and Professor Colin Scott, Faculty of Law, UCD.
The conference will be chaired by the Hon Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman and will take place at the Law Society, Blackhall Place, Dublin 7 on Saturday April 25th, 2009.
