Annual Transition Year Event

School of Applied Psychology TY Event 2022

The School of Applied Psychology TY Event 2022 will be held on campus 9th & 10th  March 2022 and what you can expect during the intensive few days is being able to meet our lecturing staff and postgraduates, getting to see and experience cognitive testing, EEG, and exploring human computer interaction. You will be introduced to the wider campus on a guided tour of UCC and the Boole Library and engage with the UCC Study Skills Centre and student members of the Applied Psychology Society.

The TY initiative aims to give students a taste of both the BA Applied Psychology (CK120) and the BA Applied Psychology & Computing (CK121), open their minds as to the kind of careers they might like to pursue, and help them to make an informed decision when choosing their third level programme.

Online registration for 2021/2022 is now open. Please follow this link to access the online registration page.

Only applications received on the official registration form will be accepted.

Due to the popularity of this programme, we only take a maximum of 3 students per school.

The Programme Coordinator is Veronica Forde and all queries can be sent to

Feedback for the 2021 Event

Feedback from recent participants was very positive and below are just a couple of examples:

"I found it fascinating and I have been looking into Psychology as a career path since and trying to find out about job opportunities and what the course contains. Also since there were no other TY events this year, it was really nice to be able to get out and get involved in something that I was so interested in. Thank you for holding this event."

"I just wanted to thank you and the team for organising such a great two days. I really enjoyed it and it really helped further my understanding of Psychology and confirm my interest in it. It was very well organised and I really enjoyed interacting with everyone. I hope to come and have a walk around UCC campus soon when possible."
