The School of Applied Social Studies will host the fourth ABCD Erasmus BIP in UCC from Monday, May 26th to Friday, May 30th.

The Asset-based Community Development Blended Intensive Programme (ABCD BIP) began in Helsinki in 2022 and has been hosted by DIAK University Finland with collaborations and input from University of Tartu (Estonia), VID Specialized University (Norway), Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Germany), Wrexham University (UK) as well as UCC. In its third year we were joined by the University of Western Cape (South Africa) and University of Malawi. This year's programme will be hosted by the BYCW team led by Cindy O'Shea and David O'Donovan along with BYCW graduates and current students.

The inspiring programme consists of workshops and collaborative online teamwork followed by an intensive week in Cork, scheduled from May 26th to 30th.  The overall aim of the programme is to explore the use of strengths based and participatory approaches to working with individuals, groups and communities and to consider the implications of these approaches for professional identities and community work practice.
