Mature Student Evaluation Applications

Welcome to UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS) Mature Student Evaluation webpage.  Adult Continuing Education are delivering this evaluation on behalf of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences and with the support of Access UCC and UCC Skills Centre will offer information sessions and pre-evaluation workshops in preparation for the sit-down assessment. You can register below for the Information Sessions, MSE Preparatory Workshops, and the sit-down two-hour Mature Student Evaluation. 

 

 

Mature Student Evaluation

The Mature Student Evaluation is an in-person assessment for Mature Student candidates applying for courses in UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS).

Mature Student Evaluation date: 23rd March (TBC), on the UCC campus.

Candidates MUST register for the MSE Registrations will open on date TBC.

Registration requirements:

To register, you will need your name, address, email address and Central Admissions Office (CAO) number.

Fee: €45. This will be paid electronically via the application.

Candidates will need to bring photo identification for entry to the MSE venue. Details of acceptable ID are outlined in the MSE information booklet.

Candidates who require assistance or reasonable accommodation during the MSE will be supported. Evidence will be required to secure this. For further information see the MSE Information Booklet

 

Information Sessions

Information sessions on the Mature Student Evaluation will be facilitated by  The College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences on:

  • Saturday 2nd March, 10am – 11am in person on the UCC campus, venue to be confirmed.
  • Monday 4th March, 6pm -7pm online via MS Teams.

Talks will be delivered by staff from:

  • Adult Continuing Education
  • The Mature Student Office
  • The Skills Centre
  • Disability Support Services

Registration for the information sessions is required.

Skills Centre Preparatory Workshops

The UCC Skills Centre will run MSE preparatory workshops both in-person and online.  These will include exam preparation, writing essentials, and time management. The workshops will be followed by Q&A sessions.

  • Saturday 9th March, 10am - 12.00pm in person on the UCC campus, venue to be confirmed.
  • Monday 11th March, 6.00pm - 8.00pm online via MS Teams.

Registration for the MSE preparatory workshops is required.
