Entry Requirements & Eligibility
Social Care Apprenticeship
| Minimum education qualifications Applicants must have six recognised subjects in the Irish Leaving Certificate and must obtain a minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and minimum Grade O6/H7 in the remaining four subjects. This must include Irish (unless exempt) and English.
Plus A minimum of 12 months experience working in a Social Care or Social Care related setting. Or Hold a level 5/6 QQI FETAC qualification from those listed below with Distinctions* (i.e. 80% or greater) in 4 modules. Plus A minimum of 12 months experience working in a Social Care or Social Care related setting. Non-standard entry/equivalences including Recognition for Prior Learning
RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
Consideration under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may also be given to applicants who have at least three years’ professional experience in a social care or social care-related field.
