26 May 2021Regina Sexton, ACE Co-ordinator and Programme Manager of the Postgraduate Diploma in Irish Food Culture has been appointed to the Food Safety Consultative Council (FSCC) by the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly TD. Regina joins 22 other Council members for the period 2021-2026.

Graduate of UCC ACE has been elected as a Vice President of IOSH
16 Jun 2021Ciarán Delaney, a graduate of ACE at UCC has been elected as a Vice President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, the world leading professional body for health and safety professionals, which has over 47,000 members in over 130 countries. He is also an Ambassador for a Northern Ireland charity, the NOW group which supports people with invisible disabilities, whose service users developed the JAM card, which asks people to give them Just A Minute.

Autism Spectrum Studies at UCC
14 Jan 2014This innovative course is designed to introduce you to the different ways in which people on the autistic spectrum experience the world. The historical and social practices that enabled autism to be identified from the early twentieth century are explored. There will be an emphasis on the communication and behavioural challenges for the individual with autism and how society responds to these challenges and also how a person with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may contribute positively to society. The issue of mental health and ASD will be examined. You will learn the importance of early intervention, education and inclusion, and legislation and policies that govern best practice guidelines and models of service.
