The TEJP Welcomes Appointment of Marc Willers, KC as an Adjunct Professor within the School of Law, UCC.
Marc is currently Chair of the TEJP's Advisory Board and has been a valuable supporter of the TEJP since our development.
Marc Willers, KC is a UK barrister practising at Garden Court Chambers. He was appointed as a Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel in 2014 and he was joint head of Garden Court Chambers between 2016 and 2020.
Marc specialises in environmental law and climate justice and has been instructed in a number of recent high profile cases, including the ground breaking Klimaseniorinnen and Finch cases.
He also specialises in planning law, public and administrative law, civil liberties, human rights and discrimination law, with an emphasis on laws affecting Gypsies, Travellers and Roma and he is the co-editor of Gypsy and Traveller Law (LAG, 3rd edition 2020). He is recommended in the Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 UK bar guides in the fields of planning law, environmental law and civil liberties and human rights. Marc is also a member of the Irish bar, a board member of the European Roma Rights Centre and a trustee of the UK charity, Friends Families and Travellers.
Marc has dedicated his practice to the furtherance of the human rights of those othered by the legal process. Marc’s experience speak to emerging competencies within the School including the new LLM in ADR (qualified Mediator). His appointment will raise the profile of the Law School within the practitioner and employer networks which he is part of and contribute to the School’s developing profile as a centre of clinical legal education excellence.
