Researcher representatives to be appointed to Academic Council
VP for Research and Innovation to request nominations shortly
As you may be aware, the UCCRSA committee has been lobbying the VP for Research and Innovation for the last year to increase researcher representation in UCC. We can now announce that there has been approval for two researcher representatives on the Academic Council. The Academic Council is the primary internal authority responsible for academic affairs in UCC.
This is a great development that will significantly aid researcher representation throughout the university. It is expected that the VP office will shortly be sending an email to all researchers in UCC asking for nominations to fill these posts.
It is UCCRSA's hope that the opening of these positions will enable researchers to significantly increase the research voice in UCC affairs, raising the profile and acknowledgement of researchers university-wide.
