Research Support Person of the Year

This award recognises that person (research coordinators, managers, administrators, etc.) who most contributed to the successful execution of research carried out by an individual, project, department, institute or centre in the calendar year 2024. Nominations can be made by any UCC staff member.

Evaluation Criteria

Contribution to Research Success

  • Demonstrated impact on the successful execution of research projects or initiatives.
  • Evidence of enabling researchers to achieve their goals (e.g., meeting deadlines, securing funding, overcoming challenges).

Efficiency & Effectiveness

  • Ability to manage research-related tasks efficiently (e.g., budgeting, reporting, compliance).
  • Streamlining processes to improve research productivity.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Effective collaboration with researchers, teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Clear and timely communication to support research activities.

Problem-Solving & Initiative

  • Proactive identification and resolution of issues affecting research projects.
  • Innovative approaches to improving research support processes.

Professionalism & Reliability

  • Consistent demonstration of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
  • Ability to handle complex or high-pressure situations with composure.

Training & Development

  • Contributions to the professional development of researchers or support staff (e.g., training, mentoring).
  • Commitment to personal growth and staying updated on research support best practices.

Recognition & Feedback

  • Positive feedback from researchers, colleagues, or stakeholders.
  • Evidence of recognition for outstanding contributions (e.g., awards, commendations).
