UCC Research Awards

The UCC Research Awards Programme has been established to recognise the extensive contributions made by UCC researchers across all fields.  They recognise and celebrate those UCC researchers who are making exceptional and influential research contributions, pushing boundaries, enhancing knowledge, and raising the national and international research profile of the University.

The UCC Research Awards will embrace all research across the entire University Research Community from all disciplines.  There are eight individual annual Research Awards recognising:

  •  Researcher of the Year
  •  Early Stage Researcher of the Year
  •  Research Support Person of the Year
  •  Research Supervisor of the Year
  •  Research Communicator of the Year
  •  Open Researcher of the Year
  •  Creating a Culture for Responsible Conduct of Research
  •  Best Publication of the Year - Undergraduate Author

In addition, there is one annual team Research Award:

  •  Research Team of the Year

On an occasional basis, a Career Achievement Research Award will be presented. All UCC research staff are eligible for nomination, irrespective of contract status.

Nominations for these awards for 2020 are invited through the four Colleges and Tyndall National Institute. Each College is invited to submit up to three nominations in each category.
