PhD start dates

PhD students are strongly encouraged to begin their studies in July of the year they start their programme.  However, students may begin enrolment in their studies in January, April, July or October.

Applications fo all postgraduate programmes are made online through the Postgraduate Applications Centre in Galway (PAC) at http://www.pac.ie/ucc

Funding from the Department

The philosophy department at UCC is offering two student prizes of 1,000 euro each, to UCC graduating students who will start as MA students in philosophy in september, 2017. To be eligible, the applicant must be a graduating student in 2017, who has been accepted on a post-graduate programme (MA) in philosophy with a start date in 2017. Applicants must have already accepted a place on the ma in philosophy programme.

Funding from the College

The College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences is offering 12 Excellence Scholarships and 6 Quercus Scholarships for taught masters, and applicants to MA programmes in Philosophy are encouraged to apply. the scholarships cover all or part of EU tuition fees, and are also open to international applicants from outside the EU. For information about these scholarships please visit the CACSSS Graduate School website

The closing date for applications to the Excellence Scholarship is 7th April, 2017.

The closing date for applications to the Quercus Scholarship is 1st June, 2017.
