Adjunct Lecturer Róisín Hickey: Supporting Industry-Focused Education in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Systems

We are delighted to welcome Róisín Hickey as an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork, where she will contribute to the MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Systems programme.

Róisín Hickey is an international quality and compliance leader with more than 25 years of experience across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors. She has held senior leadership positions with Pfizer, Hovione and Stryker, leading global quality organisations and supporting complex manufacturing and supply networks serving international markets.

Her expertise spans GMP quality systems, regulatory inspections, product launches, technology transfer, validation and quality transformation. She has led global quality organisations through regulatory inspections by authorities including the FDA, HPRA and PMDA and has overseen quality strategy across complex manufacturing and supply networks.

A graduate of University College Cork's Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Systems (QP) programme, Róisín also holds BSc (Hons) Biotechnology and MSc (Hons) Operations Management. She recently completed a postgraduate programme focused on Artificial Intelligence and has a particular interest in how emerging technologies, digitalisation and AI will shape the future of GMP manufacturing.

Róisín is Founder and Principal Consultant of Qualirus. She is a co-author of PDA/ANSI standards, a member of the ISPE Pharma4Ireland Steering Group and a regular speaker on quality leadership, innovation and the future of regulated manufacturing.
