IGNITE alumnus Trustap partners with DoneDeal

Congrats to Trustap – IGNITE alumnus partners with DoneDeal
A Cork start-up with global ambitions is now powering safer transactions in Ireland’s busiest online car marketplace and the potential reach is huge.
Trustap, founded by former IGNITE participant Conor Lyden, has partnered with DoneDeal, which lists over 600,000 cars each year and sees more than 70 million car searches annually. Potentially, Trustap’s technology could be used in all these listings — changing how deals are done and setting a new benchmark for trust in online marketplaces.
Reserve Online is a feature that lets buyers secure the car they want before someone else does. For a small refundable payment, the vehicle is held for up to five days while the buyer arranges a viewing or finance. If they proceed, the payment goes towards the purchase price; if not, Trustap refunds them in full. It’s simple, secure, and gives both buyers and sellers greater confidence in the transaction.
Founded in 2017 in Cork, Trustap was inspired by Conor’s own experience as a student buying resale football tickets from strangers online and having to trust the seller to deliver. That need for a secure, reliable transaction process sparked the idea for Trustap.
This milestone comes shortly after Trustap’s €5.1m Series A funding round, which will help the company scale internationally — with partnerships already in 27 countries — and roll out new features for both C2C and B2B marketplaces.
Trustap is one of many IGNITE founders who have spotted an opportunity, acted on it, and achieved remarkable success. Well done to Conor and the team!
