UCC Geography Department hosts 9th European GIS Education Symposium
At the beginning of September the UCC Geography department hosted the 9th European GIS Education Symposium – EUGISES.
The symposium was an occasion for those interested in the teaching and learning of GIS in Europe (and beyond) to share ideas, best practice, innovations and novel applications. Of particular interest this year were the two hands-on workshops, one led by Google and the other by ESRI UK, which offered practical introductions to the use of innovative new technologies from these two major players in the field. There was ample discussion about GIS education related issues at formal and informal meetings throughout the daily sessions and at the evening social events, which included a very successful céilí.
More details about the symposium and copies of the conference presentations can be found on the symposium website.
