UCC's new Beaufort Building housing state of the art marine renewable energy research facilities will be opened by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny as part of SeaFest 2015 in Cork Harbour.

The opening ceremony will be preceded by the 2015 MAREI Industry & Research conference where marine renewable energy research & development staff and students from over 50 research institutes and industry bodies will present their work. Students from the all-island Master's in Marine Renewable Energy will also present posters on their industry-sponsored research projects at the event on Friday July 10th in the new Beaufort building.

The €20m Beaufort facility houses Ireland's National Ocean Test Facility, with custom-designed wave tanks for testing of marine renewable energy and offshore devices, supporting the Science Foundation Ireland MAREI Research Centre.

The public is welcome to view the new facilities on Saturday July 11th as part of the Cork Harbour SeaFest.
