International Student Reception at UCC

College of Business and Law Welcomes International Students
On October 23, 2024, the University College Cork (UCC) hosted an international student reception in the Upstairs Café of the Student Aras na Macleinn. The event was organised to celebrate the attendance of over 160 international students from the Law and Business schools, including those enrolled in full degree programs as well as visiting undergraduate and graduate students.
The reception was attended by several key staff members from the university, including:
- Colman Quain
- Prof. Mark Poustie, Dean of the Law School and Chair of the College Internationalisation Committee
- Dr. JB McCarthy, Vice Dean of Internationalisation at the Cork University Business School (CUBS)
- Professor Thia Hennessy, Head of the College
- Zita O'Sullivan, International Recruitment Officer for the Law School
The event provided a valuable social opportunity for the international students to connect with each other and the university staff. It aimed to make the students feel welcomed and supported as they navigate their studies at UCC.
During the reception, the students had the chance to mingle, network, and learn more about the various resources and services available to them as international members of the UCC community.
