Business Students at UCC’s Business School demonstrate their Creative Technology Designs
The 3rd Commerce and Business and Law class at Cork University Business School presented their Technology Business Design projects, which focused on designing an IT system using a design thinking perspective.
The project design brief set out to identify an issue or challenge a student would experience and the teams designed a solution that alleviates it. The module's final showcase was generously sponsored by UCC’s Ignite Graduate Programme and Cork City Local Enterprise Office (LEO). They also adjudicated the showcase, with Maeve Murphy (UCC Innovation) and Dr Niall O’Keeffe (CEO, Cork City Local Enterprise Office) acting as judges. They were very impressed by the quality of the presentations.
“The exceptional detail, entrepreneurial thinking, and innovative solutions from the students were impressive. Some serious side hustles and start-up ideas with real potential that can take the leap from concept to.” Maeve Murphy, Commercialisation Executive and Ignite, UCC
“The technical concepts and the team presentations were very creative and professional. We are seeing entrepreneurs adopt a portfolio of side-hustles, and these projects are great examples of potentially viable opportunities. Cork City Local Enterprise Office would be delighted to support the teams in developing their ideas further.” Dr. Niall O’Keeffe (CEO, Cork City Local Enterprise Office)
