Patricia O'Shaugnessy
Trish is the School Manager of Cork University Business School and works with the Dean and senior management to drive the strategic development of the School. She provides leadership and management to professional staff and support services within the School, to ensure students experience an exceptional level of service. Trish has over 20 years’ experience within the University sector, and has highly developed leadership skills and extensive experience which enables her to foster a collaborative environment focusing on both student success and staff development. Trish is a proud UCC alumnus and holds an MBA and a Higher Diploma in Coaching Psychology.
External Advisory Board
The remit of the Board of External Advisors of Cork University Business School is to offer the Dean and the School independent external advice and actively support delivery of the School’s Mission and Strategy.
Professor Anthony McDonnell and Dr JB McCarthy also serve on the external advisory board.
Cathy Kearney
Cathy leads more 6,000 talented employees covering a range of important roles, including distribution of products, logistics, manufacturing and customer support.
Apple has been active in Cork since 1981 and Cathy has been instrumental in the company’s growth and impact with the local community, where Apple is the largest private employer.
Cathy recently led a further expansion of the campus with a state-of-the-art new building to accommodate an additional 1,000 employees.
Barrie O'Connell
He is a member of the Industry Advisory Committee to the Minister for International Financial Services and a Board member of the Crawford Art Gallery. He is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a B. Comm graduate of University College Cork. Barrie is a former President of Cork Chamber of Commerce.
Áine Kelly
Since November 2016 Aine has been a Non-executive Director of Impax Environmental Markets plc. She held the position of Head of Financial Sector and Investor Engagement at Big Society Capital from 2013-2016. Prior to that, she spent four years at Barclays Wealth following 16 years in Investment Banking, at Kleinwort Benson, J. P. Morgan and Citigroup. Aine has a wide experience of introducing new public equity investment opportunities to Financial Investors and has covered UK, European and Asian equity markets. Aine has worked in London, New York and Zurich.
Aine holds an MSc in Finance from LSE, an MA in Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin and MCSI membership. Aine has qualified as a yoga teacher and was previously a trustee on the board of a yoga charity for children with special needs. She was a board member of the Triodos New Horizon Ltd Social Impact Bond, chaired the UK Investment and Contract Readiness Fund (ICRF) and was a Board member of ClearlySo on behalf of BSC. Aine is currently a member of QBE’s Classification of Social Investment committee
Dermot Crowley
Dermot worked with PWC, Procter & Gamble, Forte Hotels and Renault before joining Jurys Doyle Hotel Group plc in 2000 as Head of Development. He spent six years with Ion Equity before joining Dalata in 2012 as Deputy Chief Executive - Business Development and Finance
He has been an instrumental part of the executive team that has overseen the growth of the Maldron and Clayton brands in Ireland and the UK since the company floated in early 2014. Dermot is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. He is a graduate of University College Cork.
Dermot commenced his role as CEO on 1st November 2021.

Noel has over 30 years’ experience in senior and executive leadership roles in in both private and public sector organisations. Noel holds an MBA from Queens University, Canada.
