Photograph Exhibition and Award Ceremony ‘Beauty and Love between China and Ireland’
“Beauty and Love Between China and Ireland” Photograph Exhibition and Award Ceremony was held at Boole Library, UCC on 23rdof September 2019 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Ireland.
Since the launch of this Photo contest by the Chinese Embassy in Ireland and UCC Confucius Institute from July 2019, a large number of excellent works were submitted by students and teachers from both nations. After the review of evaluation committee and online poll, a total of 16 of the first, second, third and special prizes were awarded.
“It’s a splendid exhibition of the communication between China and Ireland.” Mr. He Xiangdong, the Chinese ambassador to Ireland, stated at the ceremony. Mr. Cllr. John Sheehan, Lord Mayor of Cork City, highly praised the the participants’ love for the two countries. Prof. Patrick O’Shea, the President of UCC, also highly commended the UCC Confucius Institute’s role in Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange.
