UCC Alumni Fund: Enhancing the Student Experience

The UCC Alumni Fund raises support from alumni and other friends of UCC for a range of urgent and transformational projects that directly impact the student experience yet could never be covered from the state grant.

Comprising academic, social and personal dimensions, the student experience includes the integration of extracurricular activities, campus life and diverse support services which contribute to students’ well-rounded UCC journey. The fund welcomes donations of any amount and will use the funds to support initiatives that will have the widest range of impact for students.

Your Generosity at Work

Gifts to the UCC Alumni Fund enhance campus life, promote wellbeing, foster inclusion, and help UCC students succeed both academically and personally - now and into the future. Here are just a few examples of the Fund in action:

Alumni and Student Impact

From Cork to every corner of the world, UCC alumni are giving back—and students are feeling the impact. Together, past and present connect through the UCC Alumni Fund to build the university’s future.

Why I Give

“My qualifications opened doors to a successful business career. I’ve chosen to support the UCC Alumni Fund because helping young students get a strong start in their careers is, in my view, one of the best investments we can make in our future.”

— Aindrias T. Wall,
BA 1980, DipCompSc 1981

Student Impact

“With our UCC Alumni Fund grant, the Dress for Success programme will work with career services to make students feel comfortable in their career field, get them ready for interviews and make sure that they feel confident in what they're wearing and who they are.”

— Emily Mae Kenyon,
Chairperson of the UCC Fashion Society and Project Leader for the Dress for Success initiative

Why I Give

"Having such fond memories of the beautiful campus, attending lectures, labs, and interactions with mentors, it is wonderful to think that others are currently enjoying the UCC experience. Supporting the UCC Alumni Fund is a great way to stay connected with UCC and contribute to the student experience for future alumni."

— Saranna Fanning, BSc 2004, PhD 2010

Student Impact

“We very graciously got granted money from the UCC Alumni Fund to buy new mats for our club. It's going to make a huge impact with how safe our training is and how much people are able to train during the next year and all the years following.”

— Niamh de Baróid,
Co-Captain of the UCC Trampoline and Tumbling Club

Why I Give

“I owe much to my Alma Mater. I am proud of this university and what it gave me, both academically and socially. Our support will help keep UCC in the top echelons of academic and research capability. That’s why I am always glad to donate wherever possible.”

— Tony Duffy, BA 1971

Student Impact

“I now can’t imagine a world in which I don’t go to college with dogs. Thanks to the UCC Alumni Fund, the support the PAWS programme provides to staff and students is phenomenal.”

— Ellie Cullinan,
UCC Student Dog Handler, Promoting Academic Welfare Supports (PAWS) Programme
