This is a great opportunity to meet the committee and your fellow WGA members over refreshments.

About our guest speaker:

Orla McAndrew is an award-winning Irish chef, writer, speaker and founder of Orla McAndrew Food, a luxury zero-waste catering company based in Cork.

Known for creating five-star weddings and events that combine exceptional hospitality with a deep commitment to sustainability, her work challenges the idea that luxury must come at the expense of people or the planet.
A passionate advocate for better food systems, Orla has become a leading voice in the conversation around food waste, circular economy practices and the cultural role of hospitality in modern Ireland.

Her business has received international recognition for its innovative approach to sustainable catering, including recent honours for sustainability and business innovation.
Alongside her work in events, Orla is a bestselling author and regular opinion writer, contributing widely on food culture, sustainability, hospitality and modern life.

Her writing is known for its grounded, observational style and its ability to connect food to wider social and cultural questions.
Orla is also an experienced television contributor and public speaker, appearing on live television, industry panels and national events, where she speaks candidly about entrepreneurship, creativity, food systems and building a values-led business in a challenging world.
At the heart of all of her work is a simple belief: food doesn’t have to be excessive to be exquisite.
