UCC Launches Philanthropy Impact Report 2024-25

The cover of the Philanthropy Impact Report 2024-25 features Dr Evelyn Grant performing in front of newly unveiled portraits in the Aula Maxima as part of Accenture’s Women on Walls ‘In Conversation’ Event at UCC.

2024–2025 was a year of meaningful impact across the University, with philanthropy supporting a wide range of initiatives spanning research, student support, sustainability and the arts.

From advancing tailored cancer treatments and research into Parkinson’s disease, to exploring the links between the microbiome and mental wellbeing, donor support continues to drive solutions to real-world challenges.

Presented at the annual Benefactors' Lunch on 28 March, Cork University Foundation’s Philanthropy Impact Report 2024-25 features inspiring stories that demonstrate how the generosity of our alumni, donors and supporters is transforming lives, advancing research and enriching campus life.

Highlights include features on how community fundraisers are raising vital funds for medicine and health research at UCC, how philanthropy is opening doors to education through Sanctuary Scholarships and the Access Programme, and how the UCC Alumni Fund is enhancing the student experience by supporting initiatives like the UCC Students’ Union Food Pantry. The report also celebrates cultural and creative projects, including a documentary marking the 250th anniversary of Daniel O’Connell, and the continued impact of the Glucksman Art Gallery, alongside future plans for the Granary Transformation Project.

“As we reflect on thirty years of Cork University Foundation the strength of our partnerships to forge a fairer, healthier and more sustainable world has never been so vital to the societies we serve. In a world that faces great challenges, our philanthropic partnerships support a better future” said Kerry Bryson, CEO, Cork University Foundation.

“Philanthropy has helped us to create an environment that enables our students to flourish both academically and personally and allows our researchers to be inquisitive and to explore new ideas. Together we have built a vibrant and inclusive campus” said Professor John O’Halloran, President, UCC.
