Thanks to our College of Science, Engineering and Food Science staff and students who participated in the Cork Carnival of Science recently. The event was held at Fitzgerald Park and featured family-friendly experiments, interactive activities, garden games, street cuisine and live demonstrations. 

The annual BSc Architecture summer show took place on 2nd June in the Cork Centre for Architectural Education. The event showcases the innovative and creative projects produced by students from the course.

Congratulations to our College of Science, Engineering and Food Science researchers who had their contributions to innovation and knowledge enhancement recognised at the 2021 University College Cork Research Awards.

Dr Veronica Delaney, an inspirational leader in the field of medicine, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by UCC. Dr. Delaney graduated from UCC in 1964 with a BSc Honours majoring in Biochemistry.

A significant cross-European, EU-backed, project aimed at empowering, training and enhancing the role of Research Managers which was launched by Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence, on 3rd June at UCC. 

Staff from the School of Mathematical Sciences played host to one hundred maths scholars and educators from all over Ireland at the Irish Mathematical Trust (IMT) Awards, in the Aula Maxima on 29 May. 

Congratulations to Professor Sarah Culloty, Head of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science who has been appointed to the Board of the Irish Fulbright Commission for a two-year term.

The School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) recently hosted an open day in Distillery Fields to launch their new Urban Farm.
