Professor Dimitra Psychogiou, a global expert in RF front-end technologies has been appointed to the position of Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the School of Engineering and Architecture. She will also assume the role of Head of Group for Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies at the Tyndall National Institute.

Limerick and Dr Mark Fenlon, Head of Food Research at Teagasc Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork and Ashtown, Dublin.

UCC STEM students receive scholarships as part of Johnson & Johnson’s WISTEM2D Programme
25 Jan 2022Eleven UCC students were recently presented with scholarships at a virtual awards ceremony as part of the Johnson & Johnson Ireland Women in STEM2D (WiSTEM2D) Award Programme. Now in its fourth year at UCC, the WiSTEM2D programme will provide the scholarship recipients with extensive industry mentoring and leadership training.

Professor Barry O’Sullivan elected Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence

18 Jan 2022Congratulations to Robert Troy from CBS Charleville who won two major prizes at this year's BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition (BTYSE) for his project "Smart Yard: IoT monitoring of key farm metrics to reduce agricultural emissions". Robert was supported in his research by Dr Emanuel Popovici and the Embedded.Systems Group, Department of Electricial and Electronic Engineering, UCC.

Giant sunfish numbers increase in Irish waters as temperatures rise
