Congratulations to Séamus Davis, Professor of Quantum Physics at UCC, who has been named as the recipient of the Oliver E. Buckley Prize in Condensed Matter Physics – one of the most prestigious awards in world science.

Congratulations to UCC STEM researchers Dr Kate Kiseeva, School of Biological Earth and Environmental Sciences/Environmental Research Institute, and Dr Xing Ouyang, IPIC SFI Centre for Photonics who have been awarded funding as part of the Irish Research Council’s Starting and Consolidator Laureate Awards Programme.

UCC's annual Open Day for prospective students took place on 8 October - the first in-person Open Day since 2019. It was wonderful to see the university so vibrant with students and parents, with the sun shining and our beautiful campus looking its best. 

Kerry Group to sponsor two Masters students in 2022 through the innovative MSc in Dairy Process Technology at UCC. The students will be employed by Kerry Dairy Ireland while completing their Masters at the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences.

Tiny amounts of crude oil on the water surface, less than one percent of the thickness of a hair, can damage seabird feathers, researchers from UCC's School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences have found.

The future success of Ireland’s dairy industry is dependant on the sector adopting a ‘value not volume’ approach to production, according to Professor Seamus O’Mahony who takes up his new role as Professor of Dairy Science at the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences, UCC.
