UCC's Eli Lilly PhD Scholars and staff from the School of Engineering and Architecture recently visited Eli Lilly at their Dunderrow site in recognition of the pharmaceutical company’s contribution to the university over the years.

UCC Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate Mary Hurley has been awarded the prestigious title of Engineer of the Year by Engineers Ireland, the professional membership body for engineers.

Three BE Energy Engineering students have received scholarships of €2,000 from renewable energy company Statkraft. 

Professor Gerard Killeen delivered his inaugural professorial lecture entitled "Career adventures with some of the world’s most dangerous animals and pathogens: An African-centred personal perspective" at a special event in UCC on 29 November. Professor Killeen is AXA Research Chair in Applied Pathogen Ecology, School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences/Environmental Research Institute (ERI).

Dell Technologies has been recognised by UCC for its contribution to the education, research, and development of electronic engineers at the university. The company's donation of high-end computing and data storage equipment enables UCC’s Embedded Systems research group in the School of Engineering and Architecture to rapidly accelerate research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).

MaREI - the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine at UCC, has won the ‘SFI Engaged Research of the Year Award 2022’ for the Dingle Peninsula 2030 initiative.
