Career Development Opportunities
UCC offers a range of supports to help staff grow their careers from formal reviews to funded mobility and coaching. These include:
1. Performance & Development Review System (PDRS) - Formal bi-annual review process where staff and their line manager agree objectives and identify training needs (direct Login.)
2a. Staff Learning & Development Programmes and Workshops- Annual catalogue of training covering leadership, management, communication and skills and much more.
2b. Leadership & Management Programmes and Workshops including LEAD@UCC and Current Leaders Levels 1 & 2 (IMI-certified leadership programmes).
3. Fee Concession Scheme - Reduced fees for staff studying at UCC or partner Irish universities.
4. Erasmus+ Staff Mobility - Funded teaching/training placements at partner institutions abroad, plus hosting of incoming Erasmus+ staff.
5. UCC Researcher Development Framework - Structured supports for research staff, aligned with the EU Researcher Competency Framework, including the Post Doc Development Hub, Professional Development Plans, Research Orientation, and The Odyssey Programme (careers beyond academia).
6. Coaching - Confidential, structured coaching support for career and performance goals.
7. Mentoring - Open to all staff as mentor or mentee at any career stage, with dedicated schemes for new research staff and professional staff.
