Advertising Research Positions
Here you will find a step by step guide on how to advertise a Research Position
| Step 1: | Complete and return a PF4 July 2026 form to hrresearchqueries@ucc.ie |

| Step 2: | In addition to the PF4 complete and return a Job Advertisement. Details can be found HERE |
| Step 3: | A member of the team will advise an advertsising date. Posts will be advertised on UCC Website, University Vacancies, Euraxess for a minimum of 1 week. |
| Step 4: | Once the post closes, applications will be made available to view via ESS(you will be advised of the post number in order to access applications). |
| Step 5: | Shortlist and Interview will be carried out by the PI and a nominee. |
| Step 6: | After interview, advise People & Culture, Research of the outcome by submitting a to Laura McSweeney (l.mcsweeney@ucc.ie) or Niamh Buckley(niamh.buckley@ucc.ie). |
| Step 7: | A member of the team will liaise with the recommended candidate to arrange contract and hosting agreement (where applicable). |
With effect from 8th July 2026, all new Research Support Officer and Senior Research Coordinator posts must be advertised using the appropriate University salary grades (Research, Administrative or Technical). New Research Support Officers and Senior Research Coordinator positions should no longer be advertised using personal rates and will instead be advertised against a specified grade in line with the duties and responsibilities of the role.

Remember:
- The Research code does not need to be set up for advertising.
- Posts will be advertised on the HR website for a minimum of one week.
- Applications must be submitted online via the University College Cork vacancy portal (http://ore.ucc.ie/)
- The PI arranges interviews for the candidates.
