A number of free events for members
The Staff Sports and Social Club (SSSC) runs a number of events every year. Some of these events are completely free to members. That's right, you pay nothing to attend for the "Free-to-members" events if you're a signed up member of the SSSC. The free-to-members events are listed on our events pages.
Discounts on ALL other Sports and Social Club events
For any event that we run that is not a "Free-to-members" event, all SSSC members will still receive a significant discount on the full cost of the event. The disount applied will vary depending on the event, so check out our each event for information on the discount applied. We generally aim to run around 10 events a year.
Non-members are welcome to attend, but will be asked to pay full price (unless they are the plus one of an existing member - see the next benefit for more info on that).
New Benefit - Discounted "Plus One"
We're introducing a new benefit for our members. Now you can bring a "plus one" (non-member) to a SSSC event and receive a discount on the full cost for them. So if you're nervous about turning up to an SSSC event, you can now bring back-up and not have to pay full price for them!
- Discount will vary depending on the full cost of event in question.
- Members will take priority in the case that an event is over-subscribed
Discounted Cinema Tickets for All Gate Cinemas
Members can also avail of discounted cinema tickets for all Gate Cinemas. Cinema vouchers are available at a reduced price of €5 each from the UCC Visitors' Centre (North Wing, Main Quadrangle). There is a limit of 4 tickets per month per member. Vouchers can be redeemed in any Gate Cinema; Cork, Douglas, Mallow or Midleton.
