Professor Nabeel A. Riza Presented The Fellow Award from IS&T: The International Society for Imaging Science and Technology
The International Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) in a ceremony held in the USA has presented its IS&T Fellow Award to Professor Nabeel A. Riza (2019 IS&T Edwin H. Land Medalist) of University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. The Fellow Award of the IS&T is awarded for outstanding achievement in imaging science or engineering. Prof.
Riza’s Fellow Award citation states: “ for invention of the extreme linear dynamic range full spectrum Coded Access Optical Sensors - Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor ( CAOS-CMOS ) camera and other high impact inventions in image engineering.” A maximum of 5 Fellow awards can be presented annually. Prof. Riza is the sole recipient of the award for 2022. A triangular, engraved plexiglass statuette was presented to Prof. Riza. Previous renown IS&T Fellow awardees include American landscape photographer Ansel Adams and MIT Professor Stephen A. Benton who invented the rainbow hologram and received the 2005 IS&T Edwin H. Land Medal.
