GVN Forefront of Virology Webinar featuring Dr. Ali Mirazimi
The Global Virus Network, in partnership with the University of South Florida, presents a webinar series featuring expert virologists from GVN Centers of Excellence. This session features Ali Mirazimi, PhD, a Professor at Karolinska Institutet and a senior expert at both the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the Head of Section at the National Veterinary Institute. He will discuss "Uncovering How Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus Hijacks Cells: The Key Role of the LDL Receptor in Its Replication."

Ali Mirazimi, PhD is Professor at Karolinska Institutet and a senior expert at both the Public Health Agency of Sweden and Head of Section at the National Veterinary Institute. His research focusing on virus-host interactions, pathogenesis, and the development of diagnostics, vaccines, and antivirals. He chairs the Swedish Society for Virology and plays a key role in multiple EU and WHO initiatives on high-threat pathogens. His work has resulted in over 150 publications in top journals.
